Starting the 2009 New Year with a new blog

Howdy! I hope everybody had a great Christmas and received all the wonderful gifts you wished for. I apologize for post lagging as my mind has been on vacation the last few weeks. As you may already know, the 2009 Winter league will start in a few weeks and we haven't finalized any teams and divisions yet. As much as I would love to make it simple and accept all the teams if possible, this process is actually very difficult and time assuming for me. I expect to have everything finalized by the end of the week and the schedules posted online by no later than Sunday, January 4th 2009. Please be aware your team may be moved around for whatever reason to ensure a fair and competitive environment.

On to the main point of this posting: As the blog title stated and I am very excited to announce that starting in 2009 I will be using a very new blog site. So this will be my very last post on this Mofufus blog. Please visit my new personal blog for any and all information regarding Mofufus Basketball.

2008 Fall: That's a Wrap!

Holy...this season sure seems like forever! It's finally over! Through all the crazy uncontrollable events that ocurred, we made it. Thanks to all of the participants for your extra patience and understanding...it turned out to be another successful season. Like always, a special thank you goes out to our wonderful scorekeepers and referees. Get ready for 2009!!!

All results are in and posted on the website...we still have a lot of league t-shirts to hand out to the winners (a lot of you forgot to pick them up). Please throw us an email at info@mofufus.org to find out further details on how to get your hands on your winning t-shirts, otherwise...we might have to raffle them out again here at the blog. Please contact us before the start of the 2009 winter season (or else you'll be t-shirtless). We're not a storage company!

The deadline for the 2009 winter season registration is this Saturday, December 27th. As of today, we have over 100 registered teams (that's nuts). We would love to take all of you, but its unfortunate we only have the manpower to accept roughly 72-80 teams, not to mention how difficult it is to obtain the gymnasiums. For this reason, we will be extra strict on the arrival of league registration and payments. First come first serve!!!

It's a wrap! Happy holidays, be safe, don't get too out of shape and see everybody next year!

2009 Winter League Updates

For all of you anxious players out there, I just received an email from Mark Keppel High School approving our permit for next season. As of today, we are confirmed for Mark Keppel and Cantwell High School both from 9am to 9pm. Hopefully we will get the same answer from the other two locations very soon, Temple City and Alhambra High School. We are also currently looking at a record number of online registration at nearly 100 teams. Let me remind you again and again, it is very important that we receive the signed registration form along with the fee before we can even consider your team.

I've also been receiving emails regarding the start of the winter league. The 2009 Winter league will start on January 10th & 11th. There are two byes in the month of February, and yes one of them is for Superbowl Sunday. I will keep you posted on any further updates or changes. In the mean time, go finish your Christmas shopping, get fat, enjoy the holidays with your families and friends and stay safe.

Tournament T-Shirt Drawing Winners

Oops, my mind slipped and I totally forgot I still need to give out the tournament t-shirts to the 8 drawing winners. Since we are handing out all the league t-shirts next Sunday, December 14th at Mark Keppel High School from 9am to 12pm, I'll also include this with the drawing winners. Please don't forget, first come first server for the tournament t-shirt sizes (L, XL, XXL). Thanks.

Post Thanksgiving

I hope everybody enjoyed their Thanksgiving and didn't gain too much weight from the long weekend. Anybody crazy enough to go shopping on Black Friday or stand in line Thursday night? If you did, I hope you were lucky enough to purchase what you wanted.

To all the divisions that are finished with the season, congratulations to the winners and thank you once again for your support and participation. The final results are posted online. Reminder, winners can pick up their t-shirts on December 14th at Mark Keppel High School from 9am to 12pm. As for the four remaining divisions, it's back to business this weekend. Two remaining playoff games left. So good luck to all.

A little update on the 2009 Winter Registration and status:

As of today we have 88 teams registered online. PLEASE NOTE: you are not guaranteed a spot because you registered your team online. We will ONLY consider your team once we have received the signed registration form along with the league fee. As mentioned before, we will not deposit or cash the check until your team is officially accepted. The rest will be mailed back or shredded if you prefer.

Gym requests have been sent in for the following facilities and time frames:
Temple City High School: 10am to 6pm
Mark Keppel High School: 9am to 9pm
Alhambra High School (both gyms): 5pm to 9pm
Cantwell High School: 9am to 9pm (Saturday: 4pm to 8pm)

We hope to hear from them by the end of the year. If you guys do the math...we're looking at 11 divisions total if we are able to get all the gyms and time frames. In the meantime, it is highly recommended that you mail in your form and league fee AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
