Tournament T-Shirt Winners

To prove that this was a fair drawing, I used Random.org to pick the 8 lucky numbers. You can thank my wife for pressing the button.

Here are the winners:
3. Matt Linder, Prolific Dos Equis (Bronze East)
5. Alan Kung, Fatasians (Saturday Tin/Copper)
6. Chris Chan, Sofa King Awesome (Tin East)
7. Chris Cramer, Fatasians (Saturday Tin/Copper)
9. Thai La, O.G. Clutch (Copper East)
22. Robert Quach, Too Hot (Bronze East)
26. Thai Foo, Lok Nui (Copper East)
30. Joey Ha, Washed Up Chuckers (Bronze East)

Since I am out of town this weekend and Thanksgiving is next weekend, winners can pick up their t-shirt on December 7th or 14th at Mark Keppel High School. We can also schedule an alternative pick-up location and time if necessary. Please note it'll be a first-come first-serve for whatever t-shirt sizes are still available (L, XL, XXL). Thank you to all that participated, and make sure to check back for more random drawings.

Final List of Names for Drawing

Here is the final list of names I will be drawing from. Since this is 2008, I will be randomly drawing out 8 lucky numbers. These numbers will correspond with the names next to it. The lucky winners will receive this year's Halloween Tournament t-shirt.

Free T-Shirts

We have a lot of left over t-shirts from the Halloween Tournament. Instead of trying to sell it, we have decided to randomly give them away to all our loyal league participates. So how I do get one? On one of the upcoming blogs, I will begin accepting comments (write down your name, team name & division) and randomly draw from this list of comments I receive. The lucky winners will receive this year's Halloween Tournament T-Shirt.

2009 Winter Registration

Online league registration will officially begin tomorrow for returning teams ONLY. New team registration will begin November 24th. Returning teams must use same team name, otherwise registration will be automatically ignored and deleted. Deadline for all registrations will be December 27th. First come first serve basis!!! Please do not forget to send in payment along with registration form, otherwise we will not consider it. We only deposit payments that are officially accepted...so don't worry, we won't cash your check the moment we receive it. The rest are returned and mailed back. $25 fee for bounced check.

For next season Saturday Tin/Copper will become the new Recreation division. Instead of assigning a skill and competitive level to this division, it will be open to all...all meaning for any individual who wish to participate more for recreational (or means of exercise) than competitive play. All players will automatically receive a league t-shirt, but there will be no team, MVP or All-League awards handed out. Win for pride and bragging rights only. Due to the increase in cost, the league fee for this division will be $350 (instead of the normal $325).

Saturday Tin/Copper Division Update

We are leaving the schedules as is, with the games to be played at Montebello High School. Please note we do not have a 100% confirmation on this (only a positive yes). We will call you if games are cancelled or postponed (please answer your cell phone if you see a number you don't recognize). Please verify your game time on the website. Thanks.

Back to reality...

I've been M.I.A. this past weekend and few days. It's been a crazy busy 4 days for me with the Halloween Tournament and Presidential Election. I think I must have worked at least 60 hours (20 hours alone during Election Day). Not only did I neglect the league, I wasn't able to spend any time with my wife and little girl. I apologize if I wasn't able to reply to any emails. Okay, now it's back to reality.

First of all, congratulations to all the tournament winners, and of course Obama.

Tournament: 28 teams came out to participate in our annual Halloween Tournament. I would like to send out a special thank you to the out of town teams who took the time (not to mention the money) to join us. Overall, it was a very successful tournament, especially after what we can to go through to even have it going. But at the end of everything, it was well worth it to be able to see great basketball with the competitiveness, intensity and of course the sportsmanship and friendship that was shown throughout the weekend. Thanks to all participates and hope to see you again next year. And of course a special thank you to our hard working staff...Alice, Jodi, Vince, Karen, Lori, Kevin, Johnny & me(I think I can thank myself, right?). Tournament results will be posted soon.

League: With the difficulty of the gym situations and all the unexpected events that happened this season, we actually had some league games during this Halloween Tournament (something we never did before). Another issue we still have to resolve is the location of the Saturday Tin/Copper division. I apologize for the delay and hope to have answer by no later than tomorrow evening. Thanks for your patience and understanding. From the looks of it, we are hoping to get Montebello or Mark Keppel High School as the replacement gym. Where's the Fall design? If you are wondering when we will have this...let's say we have our two final designs we need to vote on. Since there are playoff games starting this Sunday, please don't be surprised if there is a delay in the t-shirts distribution. Worst case scenario, teams may have to pick up their t-shirts during the later division playoff games. Winter League! Online registration will be available very soon...I would like to say by the end of this weekend or early next week.

PLEASE READ THIS A 101 TIMES!!! There are no priorities anymore for returning teams! However, you do have an advantage. Your registration start date is earlier, so don't procrastinate, otherwise you may lose your spot. There will be no more exception for any excuses or reasons why you did not register your team. Please note every season we do have a waiting list of teams who would love to take your spot. Something else to consider...we will not have Montebello High School next season (that’s at least one division less), and of course it's never a guarantee we will even get the gyms we want.

So okay, you registered your team...yay, you got in. Nope! Registering your team does not guarantee you a spot. Where's the payment? Too many teams forget to send in their payment along with the registration form and wonder how come they didn't get in. Now you know! You have been warned for the 101st time.

I am tired, and I hate writing...so I think I am done for now. Go Lakers! Thanks all and see you during the weekend as I resume with the game photos.

PS: Be nice with the comments.
